Please contact her directly with any questions. ruthaffleck@thevillagecharterschool.org Parents, Today we had the privilege of having Officer John Mika (Boise Police/SRO at Fairmont Jr. High) come and speak to the students about safety procedures. We had 2 separate discussions. 5-8th grades and 1-4th grades. Officer Mika spoke to the students about safety in the schools, at home, and in the general public. With the older students, he went into more detail about crimes and consequences of those crimes. He also spoke to them about drug and alcohol use, touched lightly on suicide prevention and briefly spoke about cell phone etiquette in regards to the "Do's and Don'ts" of posting or sending photos on social media The younger grades talked about the dangers of talking to strangers, bullying, and other general safety tips. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation. If you have any further questions or concern, please feel free to contact me. -Ruth Affleck
